Over the course of an evening he works to create a warm energetic environment while keeping a watchful eye on the dancers and the room. Alberto DJ’d during the 2019 NOLA tango festival, and he’s ready to make more progress satisfying his wish list of live music venues to checkout in the French Quarter.

Avik began his tango journey in 2002 and since then has danced, DJ’d, and performed all over North America. This will be his third time DJing at a tango event in New Orleans because he knows how to keep the party going and can’t get enough of Frenchman Street.

Juan Antonio is a tango dancer and DJ from New Orleans, Louisiana who is known for his love and extreme respect for tango music. Juan Antonio is a recurrent DJ in New Orleans and has DJed at festivals including Alabama, New Orleans, Colombia, and Mexico as well as a guest DJing in milongas including Houston and Toronto. His music repertoire is predominantly from the Golden Era, well balanced and energetic, and aimed for dancers of all levels.

Rod is an alchemist: with nothing but a bit of concentration and a laptop, he transforms a quiet, empty room into a party that rages so hard the police have to be called. He will be DJing the Mardi Gras Milonga on Saturday night, so be sure to arrive early before everyone is officially ordered to disperse.

Ciko has been DJing since 2009. She and her partner run weekly and monthly events in NYC featuring both traditional and alternative music, and Ciko has DJ’d in various communities and festivals over the years. Ciko enjoys a wide range of music from 1920s to 2020 and discovering what moves her audience and dancers in the room, so they can work together to create a great event. Ciko’s not sure what kinds of trouble awaits her in NOLA besides dancing and socializing, but we’ve assured her that what happens in NOLA stays in NOLA...until it’s posted on Facebook.

Koichiro has a Master’s Degree in Performance Music at Duquesne University and performs with the internationally renowned River City Brass Band. He incorporates his complex music background and deep understanding of musicality into his DJing. Koichiro also harbors a secret desire to perform with Trombone Shorty and the Rebirth Brass Band while in New Orleans.
